We hosted our first open retreat of 2010 the second weekend in January. Pam Kristan's Sustainable Time Management started our New Year right. For more retreats and info about hosting a retreat at Coppertoppe, visit our Retreats and Reunions page.
- We enlisted more new Ski & Stay partners and upgraded our explanations of what that means.
- Foliage season was great. Here is a photo of the view from Coppertoppe Sunday, but the colors are changing hour by hour. Why do some people wait until Columbus Day weekend to visit NH? "All ya gotta do" to see the full range of foliage is drive around a bit!
- Peter Davis and Lindy Hop Heaven, the famous swing dance band, will again play for Swing Out New Hampshire dance camp...and will be lovingly lodged at Coppertoppe, along with featured vocalists. SONH will be held at Camp WiCoSuta Wednesday, September 2nd through Labor Day 2009.
- Our beloved quilters group made us a colorful quilt and pillows. They observed the colors we ooh'd and aah'd about and put them ALL in a lovely coverlet.
- We hosted a Murder Mystery birthday weekend with a gourmet dinner and great costumes. It was a blast and we hope to host many more mysteries.
- We obtained permission to recreate a lifetime bird list and combined it with an Audubon bird list for the Newfound Lake region. Bird watching is bountiful with so many varied habitats in our area. You can also purchase a DVD of birds in the Newfound Lake region from Ron Collins, including the eagle and coyotes at right.
- WE ARE FINALLY ON THE MAP!!! Yankee Magazine published a scenic driving tour of the Newfound region with a podcast. Link here for the map and text, or go to www.lakesregion.org for the podcast.
- We also got permission to link to the Walking Tour of Historic Bristol, NH. If you are interested in history, Americana and architecture, this is a bonanza. You can download a PDF compliments of the Bristol Historical Society.
- We bought a white wedding arbor that fits inside event tents. It's sweet. That means we have three: the huge one down by the pond, the green one that frames an entrance or supports a big table, and now the arched white one.
- Sheila is now licensed as a Justice of the Peace (JP) as well as a Notary Public. Check our Specials page for a winter wedding special and other great deals.
- For Yuletide at the Lakes Newfound Region Open House Weekend December 12 through 14, we will feature a cooking class or laptop clinic as well as tours and fun refreshments. Call ahead to RSVP.
- League of NH Craftsmen-Made in NH Open Doors 2008 came to Hebron. Coppertoppe hosted artists and crafts people with an open house 11am to 4pm November 8 and 9.
- Winter wedding specials are available!
- Holiday party planning has begun.
- New Year's Eve week and weekend annual extended play specials are available--games, puzzles and treats at no extra charge with your reservation.
- Another king size bed is in the Jade Suite, making it even more comfy.
- Design wall dowels are installed so quilters can have more fun.
- Our grounds have been certified by the National Wildlife Association as a wildlife habitat and bird sanctuary.
- THE HOT TUB IS HERE AND HOT!!! Guests love soaking in steamy comfort while watching the lake or stars and dashing through the snow to cool off.
- The Gift Shop is open. Coppertoppe mugs and tea lids, Newfound Lake cotton throws with original art from the Newfound area, genuine New Hampshire maple syrup, post cards, cookbooks, puzzles and more are available as well as our own gift certificates and certificates from BedandBreakfast.com. High-end water purification systems and other great amenities can be ordered online.
- We are now open for weddings! Ask for our wedding planning worksheet.
- A wedding arbor has been built on the lawn near the pond. A love-seat swing was added and is very popular.
- The balcony has been faced with lattice that dresses up the house and makes a nice, dappled shade (and a place for morning glories to climb).
- Landscaping was updated and gardens expanded with even more flowers.
